Liverpool’s comeback victory over Lask in the Europa League final, final score, and audience response

Liverpool needed some time to get used to life again in the Europa League, but for the fourth time in six games this season, they overcame an early lead to beat LASK 3-1 in Linz.

After participating in three Champions League finals and winning one, 2,682 days had passed since their previous appearance in that competition. It took some time for them to adjust to their new environment.

As Manchester United’s visit in 2020, when they were destroyed 5-0, took place behind closed doors due to the pandemic, the Austrians had no such issue in the biggest game in their history.

They were so started up that they naturally took the lead right away thanks to a beautiful goal by Florian Flecker. Still, as Jurgen Klopp’s team realized the Europa League would be just as difficult a test as the competition favorites, this season’s recurring pattern became apparent.

Darwin Nunez converted a penalty in the first eight minutes of the second half, Luis Diaz added a close-range goal, and late on, substitute Mohamed Salah secured Klopp’s 50th triumph in Europe, the most for any manager of Anfield.
